On January 4th, Observations On the Promotion of Construction and Development of International Tourism in Hainan Island was issued by State Department. And supporting policies on Hainan’s investment, finance and taxation, land are provided. Tongwei, as the biggest aquatic producer in China and even the world with aquatic products processing techniques at international level, built the industry chain from aquatic seed, cultivating, feed to new technologies in the processing of aquatic products early in 2005. Presently, how will Tongwei Group grasp the opportunity to develop itself? On January 6th, journalist from Chengdu Evening Newspaper paid a visit to Tongwei and interviewed Mr. Liu Hanyuan, president of Tongwei Group.

President Liu expressed his opinion on the new policy. Referring to the industry developing history and future development, President Liu pointed out , “Now, annual output value of Tongwei in Hainan Province exceeds 1 billion, occupying 35% of tilapia market. 70% of tilapia and shrimp products were exported to America, and a small portion was sold in China. As issue of new policy by Hainan Province and the expansion of Hainan’s tourism market, domestic market for fish and shrimp will be expanded. It is estimated that in 2 to 3 years, annual income increase of Tongwei in Hainan will be no less than 20%. Though some other large-sized enterprises enter Hainan market, Tongwei has the ability to occupy more than 50% of Hainan’s market.

Then President Liu talked about the integration of Tongwei’s main industry in Hainan Province and local tourism resources. He said that if conditions permit, we will develop some attractions integrated with the main industry, such as recreational fishing. “However, we will focus on the main industry which is the main work of us at present and in the future.”
